ISCLEANAIR is extremely proud to announce the nomination of Fabio Galatioto, Senior Technology Advisor at ISCLEANAIR, for the EIT Manufacturing Awards 2022 in the ‘Innovators’ category.
Fabio is one of the 28 nominees selected for their commitment to promoting innovative solutions and will represent the PURE (air Purification Units for manufactuRing Environments) project and the entire consortium composed of partners Comau, CEA and Fagor Arrasate.
In fact, the EIT Manufacturing Awards recognise the most promising innovators emerging from the EIT ecosystem across Europe: award nominees develop and scale up innovative solutions to address pressing global challenges in different sectors.
In the PURE project, co-funded by the EIT – European Institute of Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with the consortium comprising Comau (STELLANTIS GROUP) for the industrialisation phase, FAGOR (Arrasate, Spain) as end-user and CEA (Commission for Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies, France) to support the monitoring and control phases, we realised new integrated air purification solutions to be applied extensively, serving industry and beyond.
The main objectives of the project were to achieve the highest Technology Readiness Level (TRL 9) of the APA solution, implementing the filter-free, water-only ambient air purification system at the Fagor Arrasate industrial plant, and to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of APA to break down particulates and pollutants in industrial environments, thus creating a safer and healthier workplace for the well-being of workers.
The results were more than surprising: after only a few months of action, APA was able to reduce between 40% and 60% of pollutants, such as particulates and VOCs, produced during painting, polishing and grouting processes.
ISCLEANAIR wishes Fabio a big “good luck” for this challenge!
